This will be a short post. I’m tired and it’s been a long weekend. But, they are hatching! We have a flock of Buff Orpington chickens, and I specifically picked orpingtons because they are supposed to be quite broody in nature and friendly. Yet, at a year old, I have had exactly one hen go broody and it was in the fall so we shook her out of it.

In spring, when I wanted a broody, I had none. So my wonderful husband bought me an incubator and we filled it with 30 eggs approximately 20-21 days ago.
Our first mini dinosaur hatched this morning and we are up to 4 with several more pipped! Some we will keep, some will be for sale. I hear right now, it is quite the waiting list to order from a hatchery!

I even caught one just about to break free and got a video for you guys!
