This summer was crispy dry. And now we have been blessed with cool temps and buckets of rain. Among all the other wonders rain brings, mama moos tend to be encouraged to have their babies in a storm. Which proved to be the case lately.

Sage words from Mr. Rogers.
Kenny Rogers. Not… what’s the other one’s name? The one with the neighborhood?
What’s in a Name?
There are hundreds of books on human baby names, so many that we even list spelling variations of the more popular ones. But in all my travels, I’ve yet to find a book titled “Bovine Sobriquets: It’s High Steaks” written by Harold B. Hereford. New Kid in Town
Well, it happened. The moment we’ve been waiting for and dreading for months finally came. Our first calf to a first time heifer was born! I feel so blessed that she needed no help from us and I got to just show up to a newborn baby!
Go home Izzy, you’re drunk.
A winter wonder land of snow is all well and good for some, but I don’t think farmers make the list! Thank God for modern technology, we were able to have plenty of advance warning to batten down the hatches. I’m not so sure the animals read the weather report though, they still seemed takenContinue reading “Go home Izzy, you’re drunk.”
